For 20 years, Touched RomAnia has done what institutions couldn’t:

Through its seven programs, over 1,400 women and children have found safety, counselling, education, and a path toward independence.

Beyond protection, the organization helps women rebuild confidence and financial stability.

In these workshops, making bracelets becomes more than a craft. It’s a source of income, strength, and belonging. For survivors, every bead holds a memory of a threshold crossed and a future reclaimed.

HOW WE BROUGHT THE STORIES TO LIFE

We created five documentary films, each centered on one mother’s real experience. Every story was approached with a different directorial lens, shaped by her voice, her pace, and the truth she carried.

To turn awareness into action, each film invited viewers to support the women directly by donating or purchasing the bracelets made in Touched Romania’s workshops - a simple gesture that helps rebuild independence.

From January to June 2025, police intervened in over 61,000 cases of domestic violence. More than 22,000 of those were criminal acts.

This year alone, 51 women were killed by current or former partners. In the last eight years, the number has reached 426.

And children grow up in the same fear: in 2023, there were 17,709 cases of abuse reported. Every day, 11 children are sexually abused in Romania.
